Reasons I love Puyallup #4: Flowers and Garage Sales

As Talicia would say, I got a steal deal on this stuff.
On Friday morning, my day off, I went to a few garage sales around town. One had these pretty jars, for 10 dollars each. Whaaat. I was not buying.
But when I went across the street, they were selling them for 2 dollars/dozen. I can do that.
The lady also threw in 3 extra ones for a quarter because they were the last of that particular size.
So what was I to do with all these jars??

Then this morning, I went to the market as usual. 9am and an americano in my system, I was ready for whatever the market had for me.

After meeting the COOLEST milkman ever, who gave Savanah and I free chocolate milk, AND buying some raspberries and blueberries, I ran into this five dollar bouquet of dahlias.
Ohhh I love dahlias. And I love 5 dollar bouquets. So naturally I got them

After some cutting and rearranging, I got three beautiful jars of flowers for my room!!

Flowers make my room so happy.
And the price makes my wallet happy. Cliche, but whatever.

Yay flowers!

So today I began the long awaited journey of planting one of our flower beds. I guess a week isn't THAT long awaited, but it is a little. :) We bought the first set of flowers from Fred Meyer, and I will continue to add until I think it looks complete!

Pink and White Geraniums. LOVE them!

Blue something or other. My mom picked them out.

And the lovely flowerbed.

Okay its hideous.

But I promise it gets better.

After cutting back the whatever they were, getting rid of the GIANT ugly hose, and raking the dirt around, it looks MUCH better.

PS- This flowerbed is also home to the MOST potato bugs I have ever seen in one place in my life.

No joke.

So after that, I set up the flowers how I thought I wanted them. I changed it a couple times, but came up with this set up. I really like it.

It does need more flowers though.

But like I said, I will be adding all the time until it looks right. :)

And voila! Sorry for the terrible photo quality. My camera doesn't connect properly with Apple. She's finicky.

Yes I named my Mac Apple. But not after the computer company, after Chris Martin and Gwyenth Paltrow's daughter. Yeah, yeah.

So there you have it, the beginning of my garden!
